The video shows you pretty much everything you need to know to be able to do this.

During hand-launch I hold the plane by the trailing edge of the wing center section. It can be a little tricky to get your hand away before you tangle with the dual elevators. If the batteries don't have a full charge the airplane pulls away from your hand more slowly and this becomes even more tricky (which is the reason for the crash shown in the video).

I had originally considered removing 2 additional rib sections which would let the elevators overlap by about 1/2" or so (and join with a small magnet). This would make the whole thing more rigid, lighter, faster, etc, but it would be even more tricky to release on hand-launch. If you plan on flying from runways all the time you could do this, but for hand-launch it leave it the way you see.

Weights for the plane are 70g for the airframe, 80 g with the batteries, and 96 g with the keychain camera. Compare this with the stock Champ which is 38 gr flying weight.
