HobbyZone Champ w/ Clipped Wing
Clipped-wing airplanes are a tried-and-true way of making airplanes go faster and have better performance. The Clipped-Wing Cubs are probably best known, but over the years all sorts of planes have been "chopped" for all sorts of reasons.
In our case, the Clipped-Wing Cub will be faster, handle wind better, and be easier to stuff into a tiny box. You could theoretically cut the wing and re-glue on a Champ where you do not do the Mag-Wing Mod, but I don't think it's likely to come out very straight and I strongly advise against doing one mod without having done the other one first.
A few notes:
USE A BRAND NEW, VERY SHARP BLADE
THIS BLADE CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS SO RETRACT IT WHEN NOT IN USE AND TREAT IT WITH CARE AND RESPECT AT ALL TIMES.
Make sure the wing cutting jig is taped down or secured in some fashion so it doesn't move around on you.
The fence on the cutting jig is large enough that all you have to do is to position the location where you want to make the cut right at the edge of the guide and then keep the blade tight against the cutting fence and just start cutting (gently!)
